The new assembly in its entirety. Like the other arbors, the cast brass collets are cross drilled and pinned in place

The pallets were mocked-up in acrylic before being cut by hand from 4mm gauge plate. I hardened each pallet separately to avoid distortion.

The new assembly in situ. Strangely, the escape wheel appears to turn backwards when compared with other deadbeat and half-deadbeat escapements but is the only wheel in the train with no evidence of having been flipped.

The heavily worn reverse minute wheel bush before and after work. It appeared to be a bronze bush that had almost worn the whole way through. It is now a cast brass bush, pressed into the hole left by the old bush.

The entrance lodges at UCL, with the small turret and single dial, formerly driven by this clock and now by synchronous motor.
