Some of the damage to the pallets - the frame had cracked and been poorly repaired with hard solder and a taper pin. It is possible that the impulse faces had been cut back to remove wear and an attempt to close them up again resulted in the frame snapping. Both locking faces had been poorly modified and the whole component had been refinished and reduced in size.
The escape wheel, slightly under 15mm in diameter, before and after drawing the damaged tooth straight with tweezers.

The beginnings of the new pallets. 2.5mm gauge plate screwed to a piece of brass and clamped to a face plate in order to turn the outside radius.

The pallet frame shaped with the outside radius turned and inside radius filed ready to cut back to impulse faces. From here, they were clamped between brass plates and hardened.
